I agree, Sarah looked the best that she had all season. I thought Travis was pretty boring and so was Sarah, so while I felt sorry for Moana, she needs someone more interesting/darker/etc. I actually did really feel bad for her while she was crying in the limo, especially when she said that part about not picking girls like her and feeling like a fool.

I'm no psychology expert, but have you ever heard of Stockholm Syndrome? It's this condition where someone is abducted and then develops feelings for their captor. Moana made me think of that -- at first she wasn't into Travis, but then the more time they were all living this weird, sequestered existence, cut off from the real world, the more intensely she (and the other girls) began to feel about him. I know it's a stretch but I think the isolation makes these girls act in ways they wouldn't normally!

What causes Stockholm Syndrome? Captives begin to identify with their captors initially as a defensive mechanism, out of fear of violence. Small acts of kindness by the captor are magnified, since finding perspective in a hostage situation is by definition impossible. Rescue attempts are also seen as a threat, since it's likely the captive would be injured during such attempts.

It's important to note that these symptoms occur under tremendous emotional and often physical duress. The behavior is considered a common survival strategy for victims of interpersonal abuse, and has been observed in battered spouses, abused children, prisoners of war, and concentration camp survivors.
