Weird, but do my eyebrows look okay?
Permalink Closed

I can take it I will saw however, that if anyone recommends a waxing, I just don't trust anyone in my town to do so, so I'm not sure how much of an option it is. A lot of the girls here like doing the overplucked or "sperm" brow, and I'd be afraid that a waxer would give me that, since it's the popular thing here.

That being said, any thoughts? (And please pardon the stupid look on my face...)

Not wierd, but the thickest part I would have thinnned out some.

Ditto.  I think the general shape is great--you have a nice arch.  I think you can have the thicker part thinned out a little bit.  You can do it yourself if you just go hair by hair and take it slowly.  If any of your friends have good eyebrows, ask where they get their's done or just ask a stranger that has good eyebrows if you're feeling a bit bold.

I definitely know the "sperm" look you're talking about.  It's so funny that you call them that because I've called them that for years and didn't know anyone else that did!  I cannot handle that look at all!!!

I totally agree -- you have a great natural shape, but I don't think it would be easy to tweeze the thicker part. I would bring in an exact pic of the shape you want. Any professional should do what you ask them, even if they're used to "sperm brows."

Stupid question, but how would I go about thinning them out more myself?

I know that if I tweeze from under the brow, I will lose the arch; The actual arch section is very sparse with hairs, so taking out another row there will make it look bald....

doesn't help now, but when you move to Indy there is a threading place in the mall downtown.  i watched them thread people before through the window (i wasn't being weird other people were doing it too... it was fascinating to watch) and i thought they did a good job!

btw- i think you have a great natural shape to your brows... but i'm not sure how you would go about "thinning" them out...

Bex: That's funny, because I was actually just wondering if there'd be a good place in Indy to get this done

Do you happen to remember what the place in the mall was called at all, or what type of store it was?

i think they look good.  I dont think they need to be thinned unless you want them to be.  i like strong brows like this:

maybe taking a little off the top of the thickest part.  if you look at the pics lynnie posted, it looks like that's what they did there.

i definitely think you have some great material to work with but imo, they need some shaping.  that doesn't mean thin out though, because i love the thickness of them, they just need balance.  if you don't trust anyone in your area to do them, i would get anastasia's eyebrow kit, it comes with stencils and directions and i *think* it's available at sephora.  hth and good luck!

ETA:  this might help as well:

hmmm i don't remember the name.  but i do remember it was on the bottom floor by nordstroms.  i am sure you will find it easily- that mall is not big... and that was all they did there.  they just had 2 chairs and it was a dark teal/turquoise and gold storefront.  hth!

First of all, lol@ "sperm brows"

Second, I think all you need is a good shaping as well. Thicker eyebrows are "in" this season if that matters at all in your brow shaping decision.

i hope you don't think i'm crazy but i did a rough photoshoping of one eyebrow in a thinner/shaped style for fun. maybe i could do another shape if you are interested! i only did one eyebrow so you could see the difference.

also if you want me to remove the attachment just let me know.
