Question for NYC gymgoers
Permalink Closed

Hey girls, I'm looking for a good - wait no, amazing - kickboxing/boxing class. I used to take a great kickboxing class at the Y on 63rd street but I'm no longer a member there and my work schedule would prevent me from going even if I was. I'm now a member of NYSC but have yet to find a class that's high energy, varied and fun and works with my schedule. I'm willing to pay for an outside class if it'll do the job. This may be a shot in the dark, but can anyone recommend a class in Manhattan that meets at 7pm or later any weekday?

I don't know where your office is in the city, but I take a good boxing class at the 41st and 3rd NYSC on Mondays and Fridays at 1:15pm.  It kicks my ass every time.  I also took a great boxing class when I was visiting my in-laws in Philly at the Philadelphia Sports Club and the instructor said he teaches at 41st and 3rd on Thursdays at 6pm.  You kind of have to look around at different NYSC to find the good classes, there are a lot of lousy teachers around.

I don't know if you are willing to try something different, but I used to love boxing and I am really into sports conditioning classes lately.  I think functional training is really fun and it is such a good workout.
