I had company a couple weekends ago and on Friday received a package from my guest with a throw blanket and a nice thank you note for our hospitality. I know it's not usually necessary to thank someone for thanking you, but I have never gotten a hostess gift in the mail at a later date. Should I send her a thank you note back, or is that unnecessary?
i did some work stuff for a client of mine and they sent me a 100.00 gift card to lowes as a thank you. i just called and said thanks so the cycle didn't continue. but it feels strange not to send a thank you card for such a great gift. i totally understand how you feel. bottom line is, i think a simple call would be enough.

Yeah, I think a call is good to thank them and to let them know you received the package. It's a pet peeve of mine when I send something to someone and they don't even acknowledge that they got the gift.
I don't think a card is necessary, a call is just fine.
I agree with the other girls. Just a call should be fine, that way they know you received the gift. or you could always send detroit's nascar crock pot to thank them.
