Ok, I am officially really, really sick of Meredith!  What the hell is wrong w/her to sleep w/George, cry during sex, and then avoid him afterwards?  She is acting like such a witch I can't stand it.  I just wanted to hit her.  And then in the end she goes and meets McDreamy?  Uh - she's so pathetic.  Ok and for the first time, McDreamy pissed me off - who else thinks he's going to cheat on Addison?  I love him because he's so dreamy, but I don't like his character so much lately.

I felt so bad for George.  Poor guy

wow, i have a totally different opinion.  here's the way i look at it:

george had a crush on meredith.

she didn't do anything to encourage his crush.  in fact, he knows she's been into mcdreamy.

she had a ridiculously difficult day (finding out her mom cheated on her dad, confronting the dad who abandoned her, not to mention dealing w/ the whole mcdreamy/addison/mcsteamy triangle)

she was in her room, drinking and alone and sad

he comes in uninvited and makes some, imo, impossible promises.

she thought she should give it a chance so she slept with him.

her emotions overtook her and she cried.  he stormed out.

so why is he the victim?  why is she the villain?  they were both consenting adults.  he took a chance by telling her how he felt.  she tried to respond but in the end she couldn't.  life's like that sometimes.

i don't think she's a villain.  she was incredibly vulnerable and he was saying everything a girl dreams of hearing.  i can see why she tried to give it a chance.  i can also see why she cried because it's obvious she's in love with someone else.

oh i don't think he's a victim.  he did a brave thing.  i don't pity him.  i respect him.  and i wouldn't worry about him.  maybe now he'll be able to move on from the whole unrequited love thing--it was getting old.

ETA:  as for mcdreamy, it's obvious he's in love with meredith.  he has to give up on his marriage and i think to do that, he probably has to forgive addison for cheating w/ mcsteamy (and after the look of him, who can blame the girl? j/k!) and then hopefully they'll all be able to move on already.  then again, it is a tv show so we'll probably have to wait until may sweeps at least for that to happen

I was pissed about Meredith sleeping with George until I read exsupahero's post about why the writers decided to go that route in this thread:  http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=44784&subForumID=102175&action=viewTopic&commentID=5911763&topicPage=1

It helped me see that Meredith isn't 100% evil.  I think, like esquiress said, she was vulnerable and George came in at the wrong time and said all the right things.  I don't think either one of them can be faulted.  And I really felt like the whole situation was so awkward between them that Meredith just really didn't know how to handle it.

The few minutes of the two of them having sex while she was crying has to go down as the 2 most awkward minutes of a tv show ever.  I was literally yelling at the tv going "Make it stop!!!"  OMG it was horrible.

Oh, and I was like cracking up when George was sleeping on Burke and Christina's couch.

I agree with esquiress.  I think I like Meredith because I can relate to her.  Yes, it is terrible that she slept with him knowing he liked her, but I have been there.  You have a terrible day on a level that is much different than your typical bad day.  There is this incredibly sweet guy that says wonderful things to you (no he doesn't know you had a bad day, but still) and you think maybe I have been wrong.  Then you realize you weren't.  She feels terrible and frankly, I have been there and as bad as it is for George, it is that bad for Meredith too.

Also, I am ready to see what happens with McDreamy and Meredith.  Him and Addison are over.  They just need to officially end it.  I wish she would head back to NY.  Of course this is all my opinion and I think all of us having different opinions and relating to the show is what makes us love it.  I can't wait for next week!

Esquiress - you put it into perspective for me.  You're right - Meredith isn't a villian, and George did come in making impossible promises, etc.  But, I think I was just pissed at Meredith because I'm sick of her.  I do like her, but I think the writers are making her look pathetic.  Yes, she's in love w/McDreamy and she's depressed that she can't be w/him - we've all been there, but I think I'm just sick of watching every week the two of them flirt and him treat his wife like crap and then nothing happens.  ITA w/you about them needing to give up on the marriage.  He does need to forgive her and then let her go.  I really like Addison but not w/him.  She's a strong woman, but she's not w/him.  And I don't blame him for not forgiving her.  I couldn't forgive cheating either.  So he needs to stop pretending and let Addison go - it's not going to work and he's in love w/Meredith.  And I want the two of them together.

I didn't like how Meredith completely avoided George though - she wouldn't even look at him.  I am assuming it's because she was embarrassed, but still.

I'm just surprised they are making the lead character to be so unlikeable. I still love the show but Meredith is just irritating seriously. Meeting up with McDreamy that's seriously just pathetic to me.

However I did feel sorry for her when Izzy said she would pretty much take George's side if it came down to it. That was shady.

LOVED George sleeping on the couch too funny. And really like that new Dr. the one that gave George her #. I hope he hooks up with her and totally gets over Meredith.

Meredith is an unintentional b!tch.  I do agree, she is very vulnerable, so that is clouding her judgment, but she needs to get over everything and pick up the damn pieces...I mean, the character is not JUST a b****, as she is very multi-dimensional, and I still like the character, but she is on such a downward spiral right now.  The sex scene was really what did it for me--how uncomfortable and humiliating for George.

Maybe George will be the one to help her out of this downward spiral and this will actually strengthen their friendship--no way do I think they will ever get together though.  McDreamy is driving me crazy with his indecisiveness--it is sick how he is treating both his wife and Meredith.

I like Izzy and Alex together, though I have a feeling I am in the minority here.

I like them together too!  I was watching Season 1 all weekend on DVD and they made his character totally unlikeable in the first few episodes, but they've started to turn him around and I kinda like him now.  He tells it like it is, which is refreshing when the show is so dominated by McDreamy and Meredith.

IMO, this show jumped the shark with the Code Black episode anyway.  Now it's in self destruct mode.

random stuff:

alex was very lubby dubby in this episode. i know he treated izzy like %$^* but his feelings in this episode for izzy was just... sweet. differently different from her feelings towards him.

that sex scene with george and meredith was sad. for him and for her. he seemed very sweet and honest, innocent and then she cried. that was just awkward too!

christina still grates my nerve with how blunt she is. i'd like the honest truth too but can she be any more harsh?

oh, and that so-called fiance! what a hag! it's good he's still alive; horrible that she didn't think he'd make it AND that she just used him so she can have a wedding. im glad she left.

btw: new entry on http://www.greyswriters.com!
