Measuring Waist
Permalink Closed

Ok, I know this is going to sound silly, but I want to buy a pair of COH jeans on ebay. However I want to measure my waist to get the correct size. Do I measure around the fullest part of my hips, or do I measure around my waist (around my belly button)? Also I thought I heard someone say that you should order COH's bigger because they shrink. Is this true? I'm usually a size 6, but I think I'm becoming a size 7/8. Here are the jeans I'm looking to get, and their size chart:

Size Scale:

24" (USA Size 0)
25" (USA Size 2)

26" (USA Size 3)
27" (USA Size 4)
28" (USA Size 5)
29" (USA Size 6)
30" (USA Size 7/8)
31" (USA Size 9/10
)

32"(USA Size 11/12)

Be careful because the sizes don't correspond to the actual waist size on the jeans. I am a size 29 but the waist is 33". Their jeans are low rise, so I would measure a couple inches below your belly button. In my experience, COH jeans stretch out alot, I would not size up, they shrink when you wash them, but then stretch out again fast...

Rocky, what size do you order? I'm usually a 29 as well. Thanks for the tips.

I usually get the the 29, I am a 29 in most brands, COH sizing and stretch is comparable to Sevens if you own any of those IMO.

I don't recommend sizing up in COH's.  I took that advice when I bought my first pair and I regret it.  They stretch out so much that I can't wear them.  I am a size 4 and I bought a size 27 - they fit perfect, so I'd buy your true size.

I agree.  All of my COH's are 27's and they're perfect (or at least they were before I was pregnant).  Most of my 7's are size 28 and I think I even have a pair of 29's.  I don't think you have to size up with COH.
