My MIL bought me a feng shui book for my birthday.  I'm not personally into it, but I thought the book and the concepts in it were interesting.  Here's some of the stuff I remember:

• Hang family photos in kids' rooms, not in a master bedroom or family room (which was a surprise); I think a hallway was also acceptable


• red front doors are welcoming chi


• place the master bed facing, but not directly in front of, the door to the room.


• hang a crystal chandelier in the entry to spread and reflect good chi; if that's not possible, hang individual crystals from the windows (one per window).


• place a mirror in each room to reflect chi, but don't let the reflection point out the door or the chi will leave


• keep toilet lids down and drains closed to prevent chi from escaping


• there was something about placement of plants and windchimes, too, but it's escaping me

That's all I can think of right now.  I believe the book came from Barnes & Noble and is paperback and not that thick. It *may* have been this one
