Travel websites question

Anyone know any good websites to get really good deals on travel? I'm up on the travelocitys, pricelines, expedias, etc. I am looking for anything out of the ordinary.

I have two trips coming up (one to Vegas for a long weekend and one to NYC for a wedding) and I can't afford either really. Airfare is under control - yay Jet Blue to NYC!! - but I need cheap hotels.

Any thoughts?

My absolute favorite for NYC hotels is quikbook.com  I don't know how they do it, but they negotiate amazing rates with a wide variety of hotels.  You may be able to use quikbook for Vegas too.

Here's my trick: I always look into new hotels, because they always have super-low promo rates when they first open.  We stayed at the Venetian for $90/night the first year it opened and Hotel on Rivington in NYC for $150.

I have used sidestep in the past for airfares.

Did you have to download the program to use it?

yes, and at least a couple years ago, there was no adware attached and it was easy to uninstall.  might want to look at some updated tech reviews on cnet.com or something.  I am pretty sure I got the referral to check sidestep from a tech magazine originally.
