Did anyone watch the Women's short program last night?  Just wondering what you all thought.  I'm soooo happy that Sasha Cohen is in the lead going into the long program tomorrow.  I'm also rooting for Kimmie Messiner to medal.  I don't know why, but I don't really care for Emily Hughes.

I did-- I thought Sasha looked great, skated great and seemed really pulled together. She interviewed well and was very articulate on camera.


I loved her outfit and music ---


She is so graceful and pretty.

I thought all three Americans did a great job.  I don't mind Emily Hughes.  I think she's cute.  Kimmie Meisner did a great job too.  Sasha Cohen was great.  She seems a bit arrogant, but her performance was awesome.  I felt so bad for the "older" girls that were like 29 and just bombed.  There were a few that just didn't do well at all.


PS--I love that I criticize these poor girls even though I know there's no way in hell I could ever do anything that they do.    I imagine if I even tried to skate backwards I'd probably fall and end up with several broken bones.  I can't bear to imagine what would happen if I even tried to twirl!

LMAO NCShopper!  That's so true.  Some girl fell last night and I was like she sucks and then I thought to myself "I can barely even stand up on skates and I'm judging an olympic figure skater!" 


I don't think Sasha seems arrogant - I just think that after her past experiences, she's determined to win.  I really like her.  Kimmie is so cute and I thought she did phenomenal - imagine being 16, at the your first Olympics and nailing your performance!


Oh, did anyone else think it was strange that the Russian girl wore a pantsuit?  I know they are allowed to now, but she was the only one.

Sasha Cohen is great-love her style-but I do agree she is arrogant (but I'm okay with that).  I hate Irina Slutskaya (I'm sure I spelled that wrong).  She is too boyish and not artistic or entertaining at all in my opinion.

I fell asleep! I was so mad at myself! I think I have it Tivoed though. I pretty much saw everyone of importance except Sascha Cohen (whom I've never cared for). I read she designed her own costumes for this. It's funny when you watch the others and think they're ok and then Irina Slutskaya comes out and shows you what a medalling performance looks like. I think she's great and I hope she gets the gold. I also loved that girl from Georgia the announcer liked.

I think Sasha is a little bratty, but she was beautiful last night. I just hope she doesn't bomb tomorrow, as she is prone to doing. It will be interesting to see Sasha, who imoves beautifully but isn't all that technical, against Slutskaya, who is so technically perfect but not all that artistic.

i LOVE sasha cohen.  i loved her at the last olympics and i loved her on project runway...


that being said- i was estatic that she is in the lead. 


i CAN NOT stand the hughes girls.  i could not stand her sister and i can't stand her.  bleh!

Did you ladies see Sarah Hughes last night???  She looked TOTALLY different!!!!  She's grown up so much in the past four years--she looks so much prettier now and a whole lot less awkward. 


Oh, and DH and I always laugh at the name Irena Slutskaya.  We think it's very funny to constantly point out that her name has the word "Slut" in it.  We're so mature.

I guess I'm immature too, because I was chuckling everytime they showed the name Slutskaya - I was like "haha she's a slut"
