One of my friends is having a baby in May. Her shower is going to be 2 weeks. I haven't been to a baby shower since I was a teenager, and all the showers I went to back then were somewhat "formal" and for family members (no friends attended). I wore dresses/suits.
What's appropriate to wear for a friend's shower? I know a lot of their family will be there in addition to their friends. It's during the day, so I was thinking of a beige cordouroy skirt and the berry Anthro curly tneck that everyone has with some wedge pumps. Do you think that's too casual? I don't want to show up and be the only person in a dress or suit.
Your outfit sounds perfect! Like joceybaby, I have never been to a shower where anyone was wearing a suit other than maybe the bride's mother. Is the shower at someone's home or restaurant?

It's at the mom-to-be's house. I think I'll stick w/ the outfit I planned. My family tends to be a bit conservative and wears suits to just about everything, so I can see why I'd be seriously overdressed if I wore one to my friend's shower.
Your post made me laugh- I too am all very familiar w/the dresses/suits only showers and to this day I always second guess my outfits when I go to any kind of shower...like my mom's going to magically appear and berate me for not being dressed up enough or something!
Anyway, your outfit sounds very cute and appropriate!
