Favorite Wines?

Hey ladies, I love pinot grigio and I'm always looking to try new ones- does anyone suggestions for bottles I should try (under $30 or)? Also, I'm having some friends over next weekend and a couple of them are red drinkers (I'm not, unfortunately, it always gives me headaches)- what are your favorite reds (any kind)? TIA!

The Little Penguin.  For some reason Australians can make really good wine that is super inexpensive.  I usually get Cabarnet.  It'll cost you a whopping $8.  It really tastes like a $30 bottle of wine.

I like this McManis Pinot Grigio, but I haven't tried very many.

Other whites I like are Bonny Doon Pacific Rim Riesling (great with spicy asian food!) and the Coppola Bianco.

Some of my favorite reds for under $15 or so are: Jest Red, Big House Red, Rex Goliath Pinot Noir, Cline Cellars Red Truck table wine, Twin Fin Shiraz, and Fat Bastard Syrah.

I usually have good luck with the following Australian wines (I like a lot of the blends, like Cabernet-Grenache, but the single varietals are good too): Penfolds, Yellow Tail (insanely cheap and still yummy), Rosemount, and Thorne-Clarke.

And right now, I cannot get enough of this Ravenswood zinfindel called Zen of Zin.  I think this one is about $13, but it's really really good!

I wine!

One of my favorites is Rock Rabbit Syrah.  It's about $11 a bottle and it's faaaaaaaaaaabulous!  I love it!

I like pinot grigio too but lately I have been drinking "Black Swan Chardonnay/Semillon". It's Australian and so damned delish and smooth and very reasonably priced.

I am not a red drinker cause I get those same headaches but hubby likes their Shiraz/Cabernet.
