So I love this hat from StyleDiary but I am not paying good money for a knit hat in Los Angeles.



I bought this one from Urban as a look for less but I'm not sure how I feel about the ribbon. I think it's cute but it seems like it would be more versatile sans the ribbon.



What should I do with the ribbon?

I think it looks cute either way.  But i would wear it without the ribbon the majority of the time and then if i had an outfit that needed some sprucing up or went well with the ribbon, i would put the ribbon back in.

a friend of mine has that exact same hat but in purple with a greenish ribbon and it looks wonderful with the ribbon. i would keep it on, but perhaps trim it a little, it looks super long. my friends's ribbon doesn't trail, it just goes around the bottom of the hat. perhaps that's what's bothering you about the ribbon? the trailing?


 


edited later: looking at the hat again...removing the ribbon might throw off the structural integrity of the hat. there might be giant holes where the ribbon was woven through.

I think it would work both ways, depending on the outfit. Cute hat btw, you always look great with hats, they look silly on me.
