speaking of "good debt"

During the past 2.5-3 years, I have been in school and my hubby was the only main source of income.  We ended up having to replace one of our vehicles...his income covers the monthly bills but any repairs, medical, unexpected things, etc.  we had to pay on credit...long story short...we've racked up a little credit card debt.  Id say somewhere around $4K.

Is it okay to take out a little extra on my bar study loan to pay of the cc debt?  We too want to buy a house soon, and think an education loan would look better...and the interest is better too.  I just wanted to know if there is something I am missing that makes this a bad idea?

Thanks ladies.

I think it is a great idea. The interest rates on your school loans will be a lot better.  When I was in School I always took out extra cash for Emergency!  If i didn't need it I put it in my bank and I paid it back once I was out of my grace period for my loans.
