Shoe Storage Question
Permalink Closed

I know its been discussed before but I wanted to see if these were the boxes people get from the container store because I need to do something with my pile of shoes in the bottom of my closet.  for those of you with them: Do yall still like these?  Do you wish you would have done something else?

I bought two of these from The Container Store and put them next to eachother in my closet - I love them!  My shoes are so organized now.  2 of them hold 24 pairs, but the slots are wide enough that I was able to put two pairs together in some.  For the shoes that didn't fit (I have a lot of shoes) I stacked shoe boxes on top of these.  HTH!

I have these Target shelves on the floor of my closet. They're great for stacking shoes in boxes (on the top shelf) and, in general, just making extra use of the floor space.

I'm the queen of shoe storage (since I have so many). I have one of the containers like shopchicago and it's great for shoes I don't wear very often. (I change them out seasonally - flip flops are in them right now.) I also have one kind of like the one rosey posted, only mine's silver and it's expandable. I have it on the other side of my closet. It holds my most often worn shoes. Then I have the over the closet door thing. It holds the bulk of my shoes. It holds about 30 pairs altogether. I think you can arrange it to hold more but I'm not sure. I also have shoeboxes that have shoes in them (I keep my nicer, fancier party shoes in the boxes they came in with tissue and everything stuffed in the toes, etc.) next to the shoe box thing Shopchicago has.

So basically my shoes are everywhere and not the least bit in the way of me or my clothes - unless you count the few I leave by the door. Hee!

I use something like that, except mine are from Wal-mart for $1.

I have some storage like those units the other girls posted, which I got at the Container Store, and I keep some in the shoes boxes they came in. I've heard that putting shoes in closed plastic containers is actually a bad idea because it doesn't allow them to "breathe" the way paper shoe boxes or just open units do. HTH!

oh i did not know that scarlett.  hmm.  I'll have to rethink the plastic box thing then.  I've been so busy with work lately I haven't even had time to give any more thought on this.  Just throwing all my shoes in a pile in the closet for the time being.

Scarlett, how many shoes did you keep the boxes for, and how did you decide which ones you'd keep in their boxes? I have a constant debate with myself over whether or not to keep the boxes that my shoes come in. Part of me wants to toss them and just put my shoes on a shelf for that cool boutique look. The other part of me wants to keep all my shoes in their original boxes so that they don't get dusty or whatever. Yeah, I'm so indecisive about the littlest things....

i use this the bottom is for tall boots, the other two are divided into close toed, open toed, and casual shoes.  i have two sets of these at the bottom of my closet.  they hold a TON of shoes in a compact, but organized way.  it's from the container store.  HTH!
