fantabulous gift ideas?

i need a really stellar gift for a friend. she really helped me a whole lot with the b-school process and i'd like to get her a really nice gift (seeing as i just got accepted into a school so i'm psyched). she's a new mom...just had a little boy. i would prefer to get something for her. i'm thinking a spa day, or a nice dinner for her & her hubby. thoughts? any input, especially from you new moms, what would you love to get as a gift?

Hey honey, I've been struggling with a great, unique gift idea for a new mom too.  I promise if I come up with something I will let you know.

The only thing I can come up with on the top of my head is maybe a home-made coupon book for free babysitting, but I don't know if your friend would even need something like that (I just remember reading that gift idea somewhere from someone who said new moms need time more than anything).

If you do give a gc for dinner or spa, maybe offer your time to babysit so she/they can enjoy it.

Honey - Congrats on being accepted into bschool!  As for gift ideas, I'm not a new mom but I think I would always love a day at the spa!

I say a day at the spa would be wonderful for a new mom!  Or, you could always go to Sephora and get a bunch of beauty products you think she'd like together and put them in a cute gift basket.  I know I'd love that!  HTH!

im not a new mom either, but would love a spa day package regardless. it might be nice to include, along with the spa day package, some higher end beauty treatments that she could do at home. does she really like sephora or philosphy or anything else? maybe splurge (im not sure of budge here) on some really really fancy hand lotion. does she need a haircut? im remebering miranda and her fancy hair cut that (shit, im blanking) kim catrall gave up her spot for. so maybe if she can't leave the baby for a longer time and hence no spa day package, but a hair cut would only take a couple hours.
