I've been lusting over the KORS Beavertons since I laid eyes on them. I didn't think I should get them because they wouldn't fit into my current wardrobe. Now that it's nearing the end of winter, I'm changing my mind. My wardrobe is slowly starting to reflect my true style, and I think that these are just what I need. They're casual but chic, and they're just plain gorgeous. The only thing holding me back is their staying power. I don't want to fork over $300 for a pair of boots that I can wear for a month and then be so "winter '05" next year... not that I care too much about trends, but I'd rather invest in a pair that I'd be able to wear with confidence for a few years. I don't want to wait for a sale because I've noticed that a few places are already out of my size.
Well, if you really want them and they are marked down under $100 then it would be worth it. I think they may be a little dated next year. Year before last was the year of the UGG, this past year was the Western and those shearling wedges. I myself would pass.
If you really love them and they are "you" and you will wear them for many winters to come, I would get them.
If not, I would pass. I agree with Cortney that they may not be as "hot" next winter, and there are so many knockoffs that if you just want them for the rest of this winter, I would buy a $30 knockoff pair on sale.

i have them (this is season two for them) and i them. i love wearing them with my LV and Kooba in Luggage....so i think they'll be super hot with your new speedy! i thought that they were a lot, but i get sooooo much wear out of them. i love that they have a heel (i HATE flats) and i think the whiskey color is the best. last year i babied them so much, this year i didn't as much, and they have held up really well, only TINY water stains with no pre treatment.
last year they were TOTALLY sold out when i got them. recently though, i've seen them on sale. if you're a size 9.5 or 10, there's a couple places that have them on sale. right now, i wouldn't pay full price for them, but that's not saying i don't think you shouldn't get them. i would just look on ebay because i know i have seen them a million place on sale, and they have been all over ebay.
they are such a staple in my closet, that i think you should go for them.

Just a heads up, my friend ordered them from shopbop and ended up returning them because they were bulkier than they looked, so if thats what you like them go for it.
Ok, maybe I am just biased against these types of shoes. When I see this type of boot I think it looks best in frigid, snowy type weather -you know, that snow bunny Aspen look. However, I can't see how they could be worn in inclement weather. I think they would end up looking horribly dirty very quickly. If I owned them they would be dictated to perfect, sunny days with no rain or slush so I didn't mess them up. That seems to defeat the purpose of boots like this; they should be able to hold up in bad weather. Even if they made it to next year I think they would end up dirty looking (unless you were very careful) so style wouldn't be your concern anymore. I don't know, it's just when I do see this type of boot dirty I think they look really awful. Just my 2 cents...
