blubirde- i have another question.  i make sweet potato fries sometimes, but mine never turn out right.  i bake them at 425 i think for about 20 minutes then broil them for 5-10 to get the crunchy (i like them crunchier).  what do you do?

laken1- i have tried to make the switch to natural peanut butter, but i've wasted too much money on peanut butter that i don't like.  i've heard the one from trader joe's is good (i haven't tried it yet though....it's next) but for now i use jif or peter pan reduced fat peanut butter.

jif is 190 calories, 12 g fat, 15 g carb, 2 g fiber, 8 g protein for 2 tablespoons (i usually use 1 tbs. in my oatmeal, cottage cheese, or on bananas).  it's not great for you, but since a little goes a long way, i'm happy with my processed peanut butter until i find a better option that i actually like.  HTH!

Nope. I hate that stuff. I went through a natural pb phase and ick!! I buy the whipped pb. It's in the regular pb aisle and it's Peter Pan? Or Jif, I'm not sure which. Anyway, it's lower in calories and fat than regular, natural, and reduced-fat pb. How awesome is that?

It tastes just exactly like regular pb. The only difference is the consistency. I like whipped better than regular. It's not as heavy. Try it on bread first to see if you like it. I eat it every, single day - I'm a pb whore!

Oh and I can only find it here at HEB. Randalls used to have it but they stopped at the one by my house. I'm sure you could request it at any grocery store.

shopgirl82 - there's a link somewhere in the food section where I got a good recipe. I also have one at home but I'll have to look it up to see for sure... let me see if I can find it. Here it is:

I'll have to look at the recipe at home to see how it works. I think if you can slice them really thinly, they get crispier. (Those are the only ones I've ever had crispy.)
