Favorite non-basic basics

What are the pieces in your closet you get the most wear of, even if they're not typically thought of as basics?

For me:

-blue and white striped tank top

-white beater with heart prints on it

-seersucker skirt

 and these silver flips

-green wrap sweater

-navy sail bag from Bahamas

I wear this constantly, with all sorts of things. Which is weird, because I didn't totally love it when I bought it, though I do now:

Lux Short Sleeve Ruffle Surplice

Also, I bought these dress pants on a whim, not sure exactly how many things they would go with, and now I wear them more than my black or grey pants. Pic of print:

I have a black wool wrap from Banana that I bought last year.  I love this thing!  I use instead of coat.
I also use my Coach wrislet a ton.  I attach my keys to it and off I go-so easy!

These shoes - I can wear them with so many outfits!

Franco Sarto Iota

These pants - thought the color would be tough to work into my wardrobe, but they go with so many of my tops.

I just got this, but have already been wearing it a lot.  It looks great with a tee shirt and jeans, and quickly makes a potentially boring outfit more interesting.

Since I live in FL a lot of my favorites are more summery.  Here are a few...

- Havaianas in metallic green (I live in these)

Metallic - Gold

- Lucky Brand "boyfriend" jeans (thanks to Elle I finally found a loose fit pair of jeans that acutally fit, they look much cuter IRL)

Boyfriend Jean

- C&C cashmere kimono wrap (in black)

- Charlotte Beach pants

- Cherry tees tanks

1. Ruehl military jacket. Great mustard color...no one on the West Coast owns it, and it works with everything that has the remotest of brown/copper undertones.

2. Marimekko/Anthro skirt. Goes with everything and looks brilliant dressed up or down. Plus I got it on sale even though it had been featured in Lucky.

3. True Religion Joeys in dark handsand. Yeah, everyone and their dog owns a pair, but I think they're cute and always will be...the pocket detailing is bar none. Best $172 I've ever spent.

4. Grey Ant scarf dress. Nuff' said

5. Juicy cable knit cropped sweater. I wish I had bought the bright-ass orange that was on sale the same time as this one because this sweater has worn amazingly well and is the softest merino wool evah...and 75% off at Barneys.

Gotta be my Indian Sandal Co. sandals.  I wear them a few times a week!

Also non-basic basics - VS Pink L/S Tees - i think supposed to be loungewear but I'll wear them out - even to work.

Bubble Top Tank Tops - even though this is just a trend - I have about 5 different bubble tops which I am really loving while I try to slim down my stomach pooch.  Layered, I find it really fun and comfy!

My few necklaces.... though I don't buy jewelry (even costume) very often, the few pieces I wear - I wear a lot!

then the reg basics - Joes & COH jeans are my faves, C&C L/S tees & tanks, deconstructed sweatshirts, hollister tee shirts, l/s thermals.

1. Colorful or bold printed long sleeve tees to layer under plain t-shirts

2. Colorful or bold printed tanks for the same purpose, but in the summer

3. Navy polo, it really tones down my obscenely bright prints and provides contrast at the same time

4. mocs, I always wear those in the winter

5. colorful zip up hoodies

6. (knee length) skirts, once spring comes around, I abandon my pants
