Electrician- chandelier

I really hated the hanging ceiling light in my apartment, so I bought this adorable chandelier from The Vintage Garden:

So... now the question is: how hard a job is this for an electrician to do? About how much will this cost probably? TIA, girls!

I don't think it's hard at all.  I'll try to remember to ask one of the guys I work with tomorrow and let you know what they say. I work in an industry where they should know this b/c some of them used to be electricians--just wanted to clarify that I wasn't just asking b/c they were guys or something stupid like that.

Pretty!  No help with the electrician part though.

Very pretty!  I don't think it is too hard at all.  My hubby always changes the light fixtures in our house.  It usually doesn't take him more than like 15 minutes.

Thanks much, girls! I found a local electrician who will do it for $55. I'll let you all know how it goes!

Yeah! The electrician came today- it was indeed a pretty easy job and I love, love, love the way the chandelier looks. I'm so happy to be rid of the horrible halogen ceiling light in my apartment. The halogen light was also on a dimmer and it's so pretty with the chandelier all dimmed. If any of you are looking for a little chandelier, I totally recommend checking out thevintagegarden.com. Even the electrician was amazed at the price (something like $110) I paid- I've seen similar ones in local stores for 3 times as much!

I'm glad you posted this, rosey.  I have been wanting to buy a chandelier to replace the ugly one the builder installed, but haven't because I was concerned it would be a pain, and thus costly, to replace.  I'm glad it's so inexpensive.

Any pics in your home?

Drew- Basically, the electrician told me it's an easy job if there's already a light in the ceiling there. It literally took him like 30 minutes or so to take down the old light and put in the new one- I had to still pay the hourly rate, of course, but it was still a great deal. It sounds like your's would be an easy job as well- just ring around to a couple of electricians to see who has the cheapest hourly rate! I've never posted my pics online, but I do have a digi cam, so I'll try to figure it out at some point this week. It's a smallish chandelier IRL, but that's totally what I was looking for because it's a small space. I think it actually looks prettier IRL than in the store's pic!
