So I know I haven't posted much lately - esp. in the shopping forum - there is good reason! I feel soooooo fat these days. I still have about 8 lbs. to lose from having the baby (I am going to try to start going back to the gym this week!!!) The 8 lbs is pretty much all in my stomach - my "spare tire" - ew! My boobs are bigger (and droopier, if that is a word!) than before - and I am just unfamiliar with this new body and what flatters me, and what doesn't!
I am not used to not having a waist...I am determined to get it back- but what do I do about shopping for spring/summer? How long can I wait? I don't want to miss the good stuff - but don't really want to shop before I shed a few pounds.
Any words of advice? Has anyone seen any fun/cute easy clothes that might work for me?
I would look at skinny jeans and empire waist tops/cropped jackets/sweaters and low belted tunics. play up the skinny of your legs and gloss over the girth of the gut

Oh Detroit - I love you for thinking so - but no one said I had skinny legs haha
Play up the cleavage factor (if you're comfortable with that). Collarbones are always attractive even if you don't do major cleavage. So I'd look for something more form-fitted on top and looser in the middle. I'm not a fan of baby doll tops in general, but if you find some inexpensive ones to get you through the last 8 lbs., they might be just what you need for a short time. Empire waist tops might work also.
Rather than skinny jeans, if you don't think you have skinny legs, I'd look for something like trouser jeans, maybe. A slightly wider (or boot cut) leg will give you more balance below, and if you pair that with a top that draws attention upward toward your face, you will distract the eye from your midsection. Any type of v-neck will give you a longer line in general, as opposed to a crewneck or some such.
Maybe look for some cute, lightweight spring jackets - a jacket will do two things: closed, it will (if it's cut right) flatter and create more of a waistline, and open, will present a leaner line overall.
And if you can't find anything you feel pretty in, focus on accessories! Shoes and jewelry and handbags (like your new pink bag). They'll fit the same now as later. *s*
