Do any of you girls have the Motorola Razr phone? I really really want my BF to get me the pink one for either Valentines Day or my birthday next month, but I want to hear some reviews on it.
Also, as far as I know I can only get it through T-Mobile or Cingular - anyone have any experience w/either of them? I have had Sprint for a long time and haven't had any trouble, so I'm trying to decide if this phone is worth it. TIA!
The pink one is only available to T-Mobile customers.
As far as the razr in general, I've heard nothing but terrible things about it, and my two best friends (a couple) wanted to get them ...
I warned them not to, but they did and they love them! the main problem they've had is remembering to press "end" after a phone call - just closing the phone doesn't do that - other than that, no probs.
oops, that must have been old news. i wanted one at first, and though i couldn't afford it, mentioned to the guy i was dating he was lucky i was with t-mobile b/c it was a "t-mobile exclusive" - it was at the time around christmas - i didn't get one
that's actually why my friend, who is w/ cingular, had to get a black one when her fiance wanted to get her a pink one. anyway, i guess the demand was high for it by cingular customers too - she is going to be so pissed!
You know, I've heard people say negative things about it too- but I've never experienced anything like that. I've had mine since October or so, & I've never had problems with it. IN FACT- I sat it in water on the counter top & it still works fine & it was completely wet- not that I recommend it of course.
My phone ends calls when I close it- I don't have to press end. I think it may be the way she has it set up. You can set it up to answer the call immediately if you open it, but I don't have mine set up like that. I'm sure it's the same for ending calls as well.
i've had no problem with sprint either, and i'm lusting this phone that they recently came out with. it's not pink, but i personally don't care for pink phones....so this is a great option.... it's the A900.

shopgirl82 - I did see that new phone at sprint and considered it as an option to just stay at sprint, but I really really want a pink phone! My contract is up at Sprint, so it's no big deal to switch.
I looked into my options and I can get buy 1 get 1 free from T-Mobile on the Razr's, which means I could get pink and the BF could get the silver. Plus, I get an employee discount thru my company at t-mobile. I just worry about the service in the city of Chicago - I don't know how it is.
shopchicago- i saw that Verizon is also offering the pink RAZR as well. with blue tooth for $149 after rebate. we are switching to Verizon but not until fall. i am hoping that the pink RAZR will still be available then.
eta: the boyfriend and i both have our accounts with Sprint and have experienced the worst service evah since they merged with Nextel. constant dropped calls... its horrible. in fact, our company has all sprint cell phones as well and we are thinking of switching it out too. verizon is much better imo and has stellar awards for CS.

Thanks Bex!
I'm interested to hear people's experiences w/T-Mobile, Verizon, & Cingular. If I'm gonna switch, I want to make sure it's to a good service.

I have a razr, and my calls end when I close the phone. Maybe you have to program it to be able to (I just put my old sim card in so maybe it just kept my options). I've had mine since July and it's doing just fine. The speaker phone is one of the best I've used on a cell phone. People kept warning me that if I dopped it, it would break into pieces because it's metal... I drop mine all the time and the battery does fall out, but I just put it back in and all is fine. I it.
I have Cingular. While I've heard of some bad experiences (CarrieS sticks out in my mind), I personally have had none.
One more question to you girls - does anyone know if I switch from Sprint to a new service provider, can I take my current phone # w/me? I don't want to change #'s.

from what i understand, you can take your number with you now.

Yes. My bf's parents switched from Sprint to T-Mobile and kept their numbers.
ShopChicago - are you thinking of getting the razr for yourself? I am too, and also switching from Sprint, and they have a buy-one-get-one-free deal right now. If you'd be interested in buying and getting with me, let me know!

One of my co-workers had that phone and hated it! He said the buttons were a bit hard to push since they are flush with the handset. He had many problems with his screen too, and ended up having to get two different replacement phones before he finally just got an entirely different phone.
Well, I think it's all a matter of personal opinion, but I just switched from Sprint to Nextel, and the services are pretty good, thus far. BUT! I just got my 1st bill from Nextel, WAS NOT happy about that, but someone else did the legwork for me, and maybe I should've told him that I have family and friends OUTSIDE of Austin; Nextel has me on their LOCAL (Austin) 500 mins. calling plan, so every long distance call I make is costing me $.20 min., and they're charging me $1.00/mo. for voice mail and caller ID! OH! I was HOT the other day, back and forth on the phone w/both Sprint and Nextel. You'd think v-mail and caller ID was a given, but not on this local plan I have, which I changed it to a Nationwide plan just the other day! BUT! My question to you is, since my bill was (I'll tell) $183.00 (what does prorated mean???), and the new phone I want to buy w/Sprint (if I switch back) is $184.00, I'd have to pick a plan, etc., should I just stay w/Nextel? I'm like ShopChicago, I work for the State Gov't, so they have me as a corporate acct., so I get discounts. I like T-Mobile (who Joe is with) as well, so.... Ugh. I have until Feb. 18th to get out of my contract w/Nextel (60 days), but I also don't have that kind of money. My 1st bill w/Nextel isn't due till Feb. 27th, but I have a 10 day grace period before it's considered late.

Lisa - yes, I am going to get the pink razr for myself, but actually my boyfriend are going to go in on them together so he can get the silver one! Thanks for thinking of me though
