so i've gotten myself into a fine mess for tonight and was wondering if anyone else had similar funny stories or times when your life felt like something out of a sitcom.
so tonight, im going to a bluegrass show at a local bar which i do most thursdays. i have been dating J for about three months but we haven't had a relationship status talk so i've sort of taken this as a green light to date other guys for now. well, its about to bite me in the ass because i recently met G at the show a couple weeks ago and we went out monday night. we stayed out late and had a good time. we planned on meeting up again at tonights show. well, J used to go to bluegrass night at this bar but hasn't been in a while because he has class on thursdays. he knows i go a lot and told me he may try to go tonight because he thinks he may get out of class early. doh. hopefully J won't make it, but if he does it could be pretty uncomfortable for me, but funny for anyone else.
i had a similar situation a few years ago. on this occasion i really felt like my life was like something on tv. i had been dating P for over a year when he found out that the military was going to transfer him across the country. i was devastated. we decided that when he left we would take a step back and see other people because of the distance. one day about 2 weeks before P left i was out shopping and met T. T was totally hot and he asked me for my number, and in light of my looming breakup, i gave it to him. i felt guilty later and was relieved he didn't call. then the day before P was to leave, T calls. he gave some weird excuse as to why he hadn't called and randomly mentioned that he started working at a restaurant in town. that night, i was going to dinner with P's family to say goodbye. i didn't know where we were going until we met at P's house and found out we were going to the place where T worked! just my luck, not only was he working but he was our waiter. i wanted to crawl under the table and die.
how do i manage to get myself if these predicaments? please tell me im not alone.
This was literally the story of my life ALL THE TIME when I was single. I have been known to leave a date to go meet someone else out somewhere else.... The city i lived in was big but a small world if you know what I mean, so I'd make a point to try to keep my "potentials" on opposite sides of a bar so i could play both ends. man I was bad.....
That restaurant story is CLASSIC!!!

That is HILLARIOUS. OMG. It totally sounds like something from a sitcom.
Ok, after last night, I have a story... Boy do I have a story.... Just to make it more clear, our tale involves three characters: cowboy, moving-guy (you'll see how he got his nickname further down) and asshole - who I just dumped after dating casually.
It all began Friday night, when I volunteered at a charity thing for school and was introduced to a first year who claimed he literally used to ride bulls. He asked me out for that night, but I had to meet some people and couldn't. So the cowboy said he'd call me the next night, Saturday, and I figured whatever, he's not going to call. Which is why I didn't explain that I already had a sorta-date with a guy who sorta wants to take me out and doesn't understand why I won't take him seriously (Here's a hint, he claims he is not ready for a relationship because he might be moving out of the state... in 2008).
Also that same night, Friday, asshole, a guy I had been kind of seeing figured out that I am done with him, called twice and sent four texts. This is the guy who stood me up three times two weeks ago. Now that I'm ignoring him he wants my attention. Whatever. Anyway...
Cut to:
4:30 p.m. Saturday - cowboy says a bunch of people are going to dinner at 6, asks me to join, I'm not meeting moving guy until 10, so I figured no problem
6 p.m. - I walk into the restaurant, hug cowboy, we both turn slightly as the door opens just behind me and moving guy walks in! He waves and walks off... Dinner was great, and I left everyone and went back home for some alone time at 8:30 p.m.
9:30 p.m. - Moving guy calls to ask if we are still on for 10 p.m. I said yes.
10 to 10:20 p.m. - I'm sitting in the bar at the agreed upon time, and all the undergrads are watching me like I'm a loser because it's not the kind of place you go to alone.
10:30 p.m. - realize moving guy has been there for some time, talking to a friend in the corner. Annoyed.
11p.m. - Talking to moving guy and his friends. COWBOY WALKS IN ALONE. (I'd mentioned I'd be meeting a friend at the bar later at diinner, when they asked if I wanted to catch a show with them).
11:15 p.m. - I mumble something to moving guy about not knowing cowboy very well and not knowing where his friends went. They chat awkwardly.
11:20 p.m. - I turn around and moving guy has BOUGHT A BLOND A DRINK! And is casually chatting up her and her friends.
11:45 p.m. - the best friend of asshole, the guy I just stopped bothering with, walks by while I'm talking to cowboy, waves and gives me a dirty look.
Midnight - moving guy is still chatting up the blond. Cowboy is settling in and buying me drinks. Turns out he's actualy a lot of fun and we have a ton of things in common (or he's a good enough flirt to make it seem like we have a ton of things in common - this was several rum and cokes in and it was hard to tell...)
Approximately 1 a.m. - still talking to cowboy. Moving guy comes back and asks, without intro, "What do we mean to eachother?" I told him "You're so great, it's really too bad you're moving." Grabbed cowboy and walked off.
1:30 a.m.to sometime pre-dawn - cowboy was a great kisser, although I suspect he's a player. Too good not to be. Sigh. Asshole sends another angry text.
Noon today - I awoke and decided to check myself into some heavy-duty therapy.
Dizzy - oh god, are you kidding me? You don't need therapy, you need to be worshipped. Please. I love women like you, playing the man's role. I've always been a big fan of the show-up-with-one-assholeguy-and-leave-with-a-different-one. That'll show 'em. High five!!
