Firstly I'd make a list of everything you think you want to register for.  Then, I'd go on a scouting trip to choose designs/models/colors with your FH - make sure to write everything down according to store, and it'll also give you a chance to decide where to register for which items.  Then go back and actually set up your registry.

Also, you might consider registering for the necessities first, and then adding in the 'extras' once it gets closer and the items you originally registered for get bought.  That way you're more likely to get the things you really need.

i was gonna say just edit when it gets closer to the time (at one point, we were registered for a different coffeemaker at all three places)...since most stores let you edit your registry online, it's so easy.  but then of course, elle is so organized...her plan is much more sensible!

although i would advise (unless butthead is much different than my husband), that you do some of the legwork on your own first.  or pick out some things and present him with you know, 5 different choices of dishes, instead of letting him loose on the full range of choices.  i think in general boys like the registering process (i mean, who doesn't like making a wishlist that people are actually gonna buy from?), but whereas i was willing to go back to the store 3 or 4 times to shop and actually register for stuff, my hubby got frustrated and tired after our second round of registry shopping.  boys are often like kids that way...   or maybe he just doesn't lurve shopping as much as me...

valenciana i think i will at least do BB&B before butthead gets there..  there is soo much stuff there!

he will like running around with the gun and picking out things, but i have a feeling he will want EVERYTHING !!!

i wasn't sure you could add and remove things so easily...

is it wrong that i'm more excited about this than shopping for my dress?

yeah...that's also part of the problem with bringing silly boys along.   my husband got trigger happy with the scanner gun and registered us for all kinds of ridiculous stuff.  but he never really checked the registry online so  i just went in and, ahem, edited.  i don't know about PB (have never used their registry for myself or anyone else), but we registered at BB&B and W-S and a dept. store and they all had pretty easy to edit online access...you can also add lots of stuff just from shopping online!  it's awesome.
