Pretty awesome- zillow.com

I heard about this on the news tonight so I had to check it out.  It's www.zillow.com They have a sattelite image of nearly all the houses in the us!  I could see my house!  Plus a couple miles away there is this corn maze and I didn't know they carved out pictures!  Cool looking!  They also list prices, graphs, stats, etc.  I think some of the pics are a couple years old though.  You can be nosy or explore the US.

I like google.earth.com, too.  The image is clearer there.  cool how zillow give approx house value, but it shows mine as only a 3 bedroom and I have 5.

They don't have my city yet . I didn't check it out other than looking for my house, but it sounds like an assessor we have online for out city. It gives value, land, photos, land parcel, etc. of all of the houses... it's pretty cool. I like google earth, too.

that is cool.  their data must be a little old because the house im buying is a year old and it shows it as an empty lot.

I really don't think it's accurate. My house is a split level and has at least three distinct floors, and zillow said it was 1 story. It also reported all the houses at least 3-400,000 less than the houses on my street are selling for. The street next to mine, which is a major road, shows homes with higher values, which is absolutely incorrect. The homes on that street go for less because of all the traffic. I really don't know where they're getting their information, but my house is around 30-40 years old, so I don't know why it's so incorrect.

I didn't find it accurate either. They have the value waaaay too low for what homes are selling for in our neighborhood, and some streets are listed in our subdivision that clearly do not exist where we live. Plus they show us with the incorrect # of baths & bedrooms, though the square footage and date the home was built is correct.

Hmm...interesting!  The bed/bath thing seems to be about right.  My house is listed as being about $20k over what I paid for it and the homes in my parents' neighborhood seem to be low by about $200k.    Interesting, nonetheless.

hahaha...this just proves that my parents really do live in the boondocks...their house is just off the edge of the map!

this is interesting though...now i can get an idea of what houses are worth in the areas i'm interested it.  either that, or spy on people and find out what their houses are worth.

this stuff creeps me out. I looked up my house on Google Earth a few months ago, and was weirded out. Then my dad said, "If this is free  on the Internet, imagine what the government has." So Enemy of the State!

I know, it kind of freaks me out too.  I'm not really scared about the government having that information, but more so of sketchy people and criminals having all this info.
