I'm going to Seattle for a HUGE Quarterly Business Review Presentation in 4 weeks. This is a BIG deal for me, it is my 1st time. As some of you know, the clients were a bit weary as I am much younger than my predecessor, so I want to look & feel confident. I will need two professional outfits. The company/client is business casual and sort of conservative. I didnt include shoes becasue I still haven't picked those out.
I already have outfit #1:
I was hoping to have one skirt & one pants outfit, but I can't decide:
I voted 3 because I just think the whole plaid skirt thing is too school girl for this. Although I LOVE it. And I'm wary about the whole light skirt thing because I'm a klutz. Everything you put together is adorable though.

I voted for C. I think if they are already uneasy about you being young, I'd stay away from anything too feminine or fashion-y, since I think if they're already stereotyping you it could push it right over the edge. IMO your best bet would be on the plainer side.
You could also do these (slightly plainer) combinations:

i really like the outfit elle made with the cream tweed skirt, striped shirt, and cardigan. that skirt is so great and sophisticated--i would wear that no matter what. i don't mind it with the orange sweater either, but maybe that is too flashy, as others have said. the plaid skirt is adorable, but i agree it's too school-girl for this occasion if you are already concerned about projecting a grownup image.
I agree with Elle that you should opt for something more conservative and simple. Therefore, my choice would be C. I also love the first and second outfits that Elle put together.
Honestly, I would do another structured jacket. A sweater tends to say "assistant" to me while a jacket says "boss", if that makes any sense. And ditto to what someone said about the plaid/argyle. I would be careful because it tends to come across as young and preppy, not so much sophisticated and chic.
Thanks everyone! I'm going w/Option C. I'm planning on wearing these on the day before the presentation as I will just be sitting in on the conference. I will wear the skirt outfit w/the olive BR blazer on D-day.
