What is your biggest grammar pet peeve? This is easy. I cannot stand the disturbing trend of making plurals into possessives, i.e. "We have rose's on sale!" or "Get your form's in the office." What was your favorite subject in school?English for sure. I also really liked history.

YES!!!!!  I hate that!  My other pet peeve, and you'll probably agree with me here is the misuse of quotation marks.  I hate signs that read:

"Hot" dogs for sale!

"Fresh" seafood!

It makes me think that the hot dogs aren't so "hot" or the seafood isn't so "fresh."

I must say, you are SO interesting. I am bummed that I'm to the end of the thread because I was engrossed in your answers. I'd love to read your novel when you write it...or have you written it???

NCShopper -- oh, I hate that too! I also hate stores that say "Sale!" in their windows. I always think, "who said it was a sale?"

laken1- you are too sweet. I haven't written a novel yet, or anything in awhile. My job really drains my creativity, unfortunately.

I don't believe in finishing books you hate. Some that I can remember are Life of Pi (I was bored), Infinite Jest (it was so weird, and it made me feel dumb), Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (combination of the two previous) and The Secret Life of Bees (again, bored). There are quite a few that I wish I'd never finished!

Ahhh, Life of Pi and Secret Life of Bees are two that I couldn't finish either!  It makes me feel better that you didn't either, cause I trust your judgment (probably more than my own, heh).

And I agree w/ Laken, you are so interesting.

My questions:

What is your favorite smell?  sound?  TV show?

Hi halleybird. I'm new but I was hoping to ask you some questions also if you don't mind.

Do you think men or women have it easier in our current time and culture? Have you ever wished you were a guy?

Do you believe in ghosts?

If you could only eat one food for six months what would it be?

I read that your husband cooks for you, you lucky girl! What is your favorite thing that he makes for you?

If you could have the services of one of the following free for a month which would you choose? A chef, a massuse, a maid or a driver.

Oooh, I'm so excited! I've been waiting for you to be STer of the week!

1. Do you ever struggle with not "playing favorites" with your dogs?

2. If you were a famous author, which author would you be ... I mean, which books seem to represent your life, or your voice?

3. Have you ever seen the film version of a book and liked it better than the book?

4. What do you and your hubby plan to do for Valentine's Day?

5. It sounds like your family is pretty close. Did you inherit/learn any traits from parents (or step parents) that you're especially grateful for?

6. When did you start getting into fashion, and what precipitated it?

7. What do you think of psuedo-grammar-guides/commentaries like "Eats Shoots and Leaves"?

Okay, these are totally random!

5. where is the farthest you've ever traveled? favorite place you've ever been?

6. what was your first job?

this is so entertaining!  i can never think of good questions for this sort of thing though, so here's two incredibly random ones:

what's this about Disneyland secrets?  but i suppose you probably can't answer that one...but seriously, what is the nature of these "secret's"?  heh.  sorry, i couldn't resist.

did your DH go to U of A with you?  do you know anyone from Tucson that i know?  see, my questions are ridiculous.  i give up.

oh wait, one more, when do you find out if you got into your graduate program and when would it start?
