Engagement Presents...
Permalink Closed

Im not sure where to post this, I posted in weddings, but haven't gotten any feedback, so im going to try posting here..

My exboyfriend of 3 years, his sister, who I am extremely close with, just got engaged.  They both live in England, and I havent seen her or him for close to 2 years.  But I will probably be in the wedding etc.. because I seriously am like family to them, And I want to send an awesome engagement gift to england to her... She has been nothing but great to me and she totally deserves a great American gift, I am so happy for her.

So can you girls give me some engagement gift ideas?  Preferably something unique to america, but I dont know how easy that will be, so im not limiting myself to that.  Ive never given an engagement gift to anyone so I have no clue what to get, and this has to be extra special!

Hmm...what kind of taste does she have?  How old is she?  What kind of gift do you want to give--sophisticated?  cute?  funny?  sexy?  Also, do you want to just give her the gift, or something for the two of them?

I'd suggest looking at redenvelope.com.  They have cool things and since V-day is right around the corner, this is a good time of year for a romantic gift.

She is 29 years old.  She is a very successful business woman.  I do not know whether to get something for just her or for both of them... I actually have never met him, but thinking about it, maybe it would be nice to get something for them both.  I would prefer to get something sophisticated and classy for them.  And something that will be uniquely from America.  Im so clueless I dont know where to begin.

Hmm...I guess if I was to buy an engagement gift, I would do a bottle of wine or champagne, but there are laws about shipping. I don't know if its even possible. But it would be one way to go with something truly American - a good California, etc.

I would also try a website like elsewares.com that has a lot of great things for the home and the individual from independent designers. Or maybe even something like a wooden bowl or folk art from a regional artist or shop.

Anyone else have some more ideas to offer?  I looked into wine, and it wont work out with shipping.
