How should I cut my hair?

I'm tired of it being long and having tons of split ends!  I have an appt. tomorrow and was thinking about a bob of some sort.  My hair is fine and wavy but I straighten it every morning (probably why I have so many split ends.  I'll post a pic just to give you an idea of how it looks.  Sorry it's blurry, I had to crop out the person beside me.  Oh and my hair is a few inches longer than this now.



It was very humid that day so my hair was extra wavy on the ends, it's not usually like that.

  What about something like this?  You two have a similar face shape - I think this looks adorable on her.

Dizzy, thanks :)  I do want to go lighter but I don't trust the girl that cuts my hair to color it lol.  She's good with the scissors, not so much with the color :)  Maybe I can post a pic after the hair cut to ask for color advice.
