Does anyone else think we need another ST book club pick sometime soon?

Just finished: A Million Little Pieces. Meh. It was OK. The lies weren't even the best part of the book -- he should have left them out.

Just started: The Autobiography of Henry VIII. It's 900 pages. Good thing I have no life!

Well, I was reading A Million Little Pieces, but I tossed that aside since he's a liar.  Before that I read Memoirs of a Geisha.  And now I'm just reading some fun chick lit - Everyone Worth Knowing (by the author who did the Devil Wears Prada).

I'd definitely be in for a ST book club!

I have been reading those easy-reads mystery books. I have read so far the flower shop ones and the coffee house ones. They are so addicting, plus the reading is effortless.

just finished thisBook Cover and am debated on buying the hardback of the next in the series or waiting for the paperback or going to the library. 1216 pages! but it goes so freaking fast...knights, princesses, kings, queens, even some dragons and giants. these are, imo, better than tolkien!

oh...just in case anybody cares...it's the song of ice and fire series by george r.r. martin and there have been four in the series so far.

I am reading The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson. I also just started Confessions of an Economic Hit Man by John Perkins because I am a current affairs nerd.

Banvard's Folly : Thirteen Tales of People Who Didn't Change the World by Paul S. Collins.

The subtitle is pretty self-explanatory. Each chapter is about a person who had an innovative idea or made a great invention or simply had lots of fame but who fell from grace and are now forgotten. It's kind of depressing and inspiring at the same time.

relrel - A few of my friends are really into that George RR Martin series. I have the first book but I've never gotten around to reading it.

Halley, is that the one by Margaret George?  If it is, I found it very entertaining, and I read it quickly!

I just finished up The City of Falling Angels (from the guy who wrote Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil) and am currently reading Catherine the Great: Classical Ideals in the Age of Enlightenment and The Days of the French Revolution.

Currently reading Pride and Prejudice.  I swear it's taking me forever to get through it cuz I pretty much only read right before I'm going to bed.

At the library I also picked up Lauren Bacall's autobiography, Chronicle of a Death Foretold by Gabriel Garcia Marquez (my favorite author ever), and The Hound of the Baskervilles (Sherlock Holmes).  I can't wait to start delving into those.

yep. My dad recommended it, and so did someone else on here (was it you?) in another book thread. All I've read so far is the prologue, so I hope I get into it.

nothing, can you believe that? I stopped a few books into Chronicles of Narnia & I started some chick lit book called The Matzo Ball Heiress on vacation over Christmas, but that should tell you how interested I was in it. So we do need a book. I've been knitting a lot though!

I'm finishing up Taltos from Anne Rice (last book in the Mayfair witch series). I decided to buy The Mummy from her, so I'll be starting that next

so how was taltos? I have it just waiting to be read.... It's just that I read The Witching Hour & Lasher back to back so I was over my head in witches. I couldn't do another one in a row.

It's not bad at all..I'm anxious to get to the end so I can see what happens

Witching Hour will always be my fave, but the rest of the books are really good too.
