Express Editor Gauchos

I just bought the Express Editor Gauchos and I was sooo excited to get a pair of gauchos that fit!  I was planning on wearing them with a pair of boots that I already had.. The problem is that the gauchos aren't long enough to cover the boots, so there's a couple of inches of bare leg showing.. My gut is telling me that this isn't a good look.. but I wanted to get all your opinions... should I look for taller boots or what other shoes would look good with them?  I've never owned a pair, so I'm a bit fashion challenged when it comes to what to wear with them!

Thanks!

I'm not 100% sure on the do's-and-don'ts of guachos, but you should probably wear tights underneath if your leg is partially exposed.

It might help us if we had a picture of you in them, or at least if we knew what colors it the boots and guachos are.

Hmm, I'm surprised to hear that because I have 3 pairs from Express and they just cover the top of my boot - maybe you're taller than me?  Anyhow, I personally wouldn't wear them w/boots if the they aren't long enough to cover the tops.  That's my personal opinion.  HTH!

I wouldn't wear them with boots if they don't cover the top. Do you have the gauchos or the bermudas? I *think* Express makes two lengths.

Spinoff question (not trying to hijack) for those who know the boots/gauchos rules -- should they be long enough to cover the top when sitting down, too? I have a pair I feel funny wearing with boots because they show skin when I sit.

Thanks for the input girls!  I thought that it looked funny, but I just wanted them to work so bad..  I really want some that work with boots since it's too cold to wear them with other shoes this time of year.  They would be cute in the summer..

Halleybird - I'll double-check if they are the right ones.. it could be because I'm taller too (nearly 5'9).  If they were just an inch or 2 shorter, they would be perfect.  I'm also wondering about your question whether they should cover your boots when you are sitting down too..

I wouldn't wear them with boots if they don't cover the top.  I think even with tights, it could still look "off."  I think heels, wedges, and particularly t-strap and ankle strap heels look great w/ gaucho pants.

As far as sitting down goes, I would think you would still want the gauchos to cover the tops of the boots.  If they don't, then tights would probably look alright underneath in that case.

I have a pair of gauchos that cover my leg when standing, but show skin when I sit down. I just wear tights underneath.

What about wearing tights and than some kind of heel to keep your legs warm? This would be super cute

I do the same thing - it takes pretty long gauchos to cover your knee when sitting down.  I think as long as they cover when you're standing, you'll be fine.
