Definitely agree with you girls.  This was the first time I thought the show was somewhat suspenseful in a long time.  I'm looking forward to next week!

i actually thought it was pretty brutal--i was surprised.  and sad.

but i LOVE julie cooper.  she makes the show worth watching, every single time.  yay julie!

I love Julie Cooper too! The part where she was spying on Dr. Roberts' date and then got caught was great.

Dizzy: I can't remember the exact order of everything with all the stories, but after you stopped watching, Marissa told Ryan she was sorry and he said she couldn't expect things to just go back to the way they were, so she asked if they could start with dinner. Then they come back from picking up Thai takeout, and Marissa mentions that Seth was really into that movie and ate all their dumplings.

Sidenote: Seth had gotten high in his room again, Summer showed up with "Save the Last Dance" and another teen movie, I forget which, and they went downstairs to watch them together. She noticed the smell in his room but he said he'd been doing yoga and then got gas, so she didn't go in the room. Later, he's saying how much he loved "Save the Last Dance" and being enthralled with the blue color of the TV screen, which he wants to go swimming in, and then as Summer leaves the room he calls out "We should take our pants off!" She goes up to his room and discovers his stash, and says "ew!"

Back to Ryan and Marissa: They sit down to eat in the poolhouse, and Marissa says Ryan had been giving her the silent treatment, and he goes "What do you want from me?" And she kneels in front of him and says "I want you" and then they start making out on the bed. Just when it looks like they're re-connecting and about to go at it, her cell phone rings -- of course, and Marissa says "oh it's Caitlin, let me get rid of her" -- and stupid Caitlin is at the beach with Johnny, who's gotten wasted on tequila and climbed a rocky cliff. He's standing at the top shouting things and Caitlin is freaking out. She wants Marissa and Ryan to come save her. Ryan says "Johnny's really in trouble?" and they rush to the beach. Marissa goes down to the sand with Caitlin to try to comfort her and keeps asking Johnny to just "come down," which soon takes on an ironic twist. Ryan goes up a path to the top of the cliff, Johnny's like "you're the last person I want to see, man. Why should you get to save me just so Marissa can love you more?" Wha wha wha, Ryan's urging him to just step away from the edge, Johnny's saying "you just want to jump and save me at the last minute" and then presto! Johnny slips and falls off the cliff. Caitlin and Marissa are crying, Ryan looks shocked and distressed, and he did jump and try to catch Johnny but you see him sprawled on the ground, empty handed. You don't see Johnny lying on the ground, so it's unclear if he's merely hurt or dead.

In next week's previews, Marissa is lying on her bed crying, Ryan tries to give her a necklace for V-Day and says "when's the last time we hung out alone together?" and she angrily says "you mean without Johnny? Don't pretend this is your favorite holiday all of a sudden." They also show Ryan trying to comfort Caitlin and telling her it's not her fault Johnny fell because she didn't push him, and then she says "No, you did." And Seth and Sandy both get their V-Day gifts at what looks like Victoria's Secret, but then mix the gifts up and both Kirsten and Summer are like "I wouldn't wear that!"
