I have it and love it! However, I hear that some girls can be allergic to the paraben in the makeup.

I would go to sephora and try the makeup (make sure you don't have a reaction) and then buy the kit- it has all the brushes that you would need for a really reasonable price!

if you order it from the bare minerals site, they give a 60 day full money back guarentee and you get a big kit.  this page shows all the kits that you can get and you get a 3 piece gift with it as well.

I use Larenim - www.larenim.com .  It's paraben-free, and you can get sample pots for $3 each.  They say they last 1-5 applications, but mine lasted well over a month.  Depends on your usage I suppose.

you could also get a makeover at the bare escentuals store at Woodfield or get the sample kit from their site or sephora.  it has everything to get started for $60---including the brushes, instructional video, makeup etc.

if you don't want to go that route, i have a video you can have.

just pm or call me.

Not to be lame, since I just said in my mascara question that I love this stuff, but I DO!!  I went through a bad spell with my skin in high school, and it just never was the same.  I bought the  kit for $60 (TOTALLY worth it, just like 2 of their brushes would be that much!) and I constantly get compliments on my skin, I haven't had a zit in well over a month, and it's never greasy or dry.  I should be their spokesperson...I adore it.

I use Jane Iredale which i really like. It can be a little matte but i like it better than bare essentials which has a tendency to sit on top of my skin instead of blending in. I think that i'm going to try the larenim that Elle suggested. Jane Iredale is really expensive at $45 for a compact.

ok, so I looked at their website and I had a few questions...
I have blotchy skin with a few zits...is there a concealer and a foundation?

Thanks

I just started with the line 2 weeks ago and love it!

They do make a concealer (I want to recall that they named it bisque) however, I have found that if I use the small brush that came in the kit to apply the foundation as concealer it does the trick.

I have a few areas that are a little red and it covers it perfectly. I also have pretty bad under eye circles, and this has given me the best, uncakey coverage I've ever had. I do the foundation first with the big brush, then any place that needs concealing I go over with the tiny brush and the foundation and cover.

If you do decide to order from their website, do go and get matched with the proper color first. I do have light skin, but I usually buy the 3-4 lightest shade when buying liquid foundation, and I wound up being "fair" their lightest shade! I would have never in a million years guessed that I would be the lightest shade they make. As it turns out they don't make a "kit" for my fair complexion, so I bought the light kit, and a seperate fair foundation. It was worth it for the brushes and whatnot, plus in the summer I bet I can make use of the other 2 shades. So... For what it's worth, that has been my experience.

I got it for X-mas and I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!  I think if I ever had to go back to regualar makeup I would scream.  With regards to the parabens, until recently most makeup had parabens.  Makeup without parabens are carriers for e-coli and other really nasty things like talc bugs.  While yes makeup without parabens is better for your skin, I think I will keep my preservatives.

I have a hard time with makeup coming off before lunch, this lasts all day long.  And it covers all of my blemishes, which to be honest I was very suprised.  I think you should get the starter pack from the essentials website and try it.  I find that people either love it or hate it
