Just in case any of the NYC area girls use car services, I wanted to post this and suggest you not use Group Americar. I've used their services a number of times over the past year and always had good experiences until now.

During the transit strike I hired them to take me to a train station so I could get home for Christmas. Since Penn Station was such a mess, I asked to go to Metropark in NJ. The driver was an hour late and picked someone else up after me, but since it was during the strike and traffic was so bad, I didn't complain. Then he didn't know how to get to Metropark so I asked him to take me to Newark instead. When we got there, he asked me to sign a blank voucher because he didn't know how much to charge me. Since I had always had good experiences with this company, I trusted them and signed it. Well, now they are overcharging me by at least $45, because the driver said he took me to Metropark, which is a more expensive destination, and he said he had to wait for me, so they charged me a waiting fee, when I actually waited for him for an hour. Apparently he dialed the wrong number to tell me to come outside when he arrived, but they did finally call the correct number and I came outside immediately.

Sorry for all the boring details. They have been jerking me around about refunding the overcharge and even though it's not a huge amount of money, the principle of the thing is what bothers me. Don't use Group Americar!
