Thoughts? I saw a bunch in the Anthro catalogue yesterday and I'm pondering them today. What do y'all think?

actually the germ thing really kinda makes me not want to get those - they look cute, but think how dirty they'll be after going on the street/ in the bar/ movie theatre, store, wherever.  and then you don't want that dirt on the floor of your house!

ew!

cute, but no cigar!

I got a really cute brown one at Hollister last week on sale for $29.90.  I know, it's a total teeny bopper store, but it doesn't look like typical hollister stuff.  It has nice seaming, and pretty crinkly fabric.  Comes in white or chocolate brown.

I totally got into these in India. I think it's difficult to wear them and not look like a hippie, but if you can, go for it.

I think they're a good way to add 30 pounds - a la Jared Leto, without the fun of eating all those big macs... I always like them in concept, but not in practice

i like them.

I want to buy a few and get them tailored to not hit the floor but just barely almost touch the floor, I'll want to wear them with sandals and tank tops.

I think it would look cute with a bare/fitted top. Like Tati, I would also wear them with flat sandals and a tank top.

I just can't get into the long-skirt thing. They just remind me too much of the ones the Mormon girls used to wear when I was in HS.

a simple long skirt would also look nice in the summer time with a tube top! :)

I have to agree with Tati and gypsyfreak. I think they would look really cute with a simple bare tank top in the summer. I think that looking for styles that are more body hugging will help evade the hippie look.

Agreed 100%! They are either "too Amish" or "too hippy".

Besides being completely unflattering on my body type.

i think with the right top it would be cute and not too hippy/mormonish.  i like the tube top idea and flat sandals.  super comfy too!!
