Hair Etiquette Question
Permalink Closed

Yesterday, I had my hair highlighted/lowlighted by my boyfriend's stylist.  I've never been to him before.  Anyhow, I asked for something very specific, thick blonde and thick brown streaks, and it didn't come out that way at all.  My hair is more brown than anything, and I'm really unhappy with it.  I just called him and told him that it's not what I wanted and it needs more blonde streaks and he said I could come back in on Tues and he'd fix it for free.  Here's my question, I already paid him a lot of money and gave him a very generous tip.  Do I need to tip him again when he fixes it?  I feel bad, but I already wasted a lot of money, and he screwed up.  I don't think I should, but I need second opinions.  Thanks!

I personally would not tip him again. It's like, would you tip a waiter more if you returned your food because they served you dinner again? It's their mistake so you don't owe him a thing. That's my opinion.

If he cleared time out of his book for you, i would maybe consider tipping him again...even if it's just a little one. A lot of stylist's would tell you tough luck, even in your situation where it sounds like you told him exactly what you wanted done.

That's just my opinion...good luck at your next appointment!
