I found a bunch of old clothes from h.s. at my parents so I'm trying to weed through that plus my closet.
I used to love this sweater but now I'm kind of on the fence. I don't think it's especially flattering and I could make a few bucks if I brought it to the used clothes place. But it's comfy and I don't have too many casual sweaters.
Don't know that I really need both these BCBG shirts. I really like the way the yellowish one looks with jeans but I feel like it has way more tacky 70s potential, especially since it seems shinier.
Faux velvet dress with furry leopard collar. Maybe it's just nostalgia that is preventing me from tossing it because I don't think it's very flattering (I think it makes me look really flatchested).
gray wool shrug. I bought this last year about 5 minutes after I ranted about horrible 90s fashions making a comeback. I adore the fact that it's gathered and think it would look great paired with a pencil skirt but once shrugs became so ubiquitous I couldn't bring myself to wear it anymore.
And yes I still have not put the new knobs on my dresser! I thought I was the world's biggest spazz until my dad looked and said that they came with the wrong size screw and that's why it was so difficult to screw them on. But of course I can never remember what the right size screw is. I feel so embarrassed every time I post pictures.
I love "closet shopping" especially since I'm on a ban right now...:(
Here's my humble opinion on your items:
1. Sweater: I'd keep it- looks like a nice, comfy weekend sweater, and you can always try layering it with a longer t-shirt underneath...
2. BCBG shirts: Hmm, I think the pattern makes them look a bit dated...I'd probably say nay to these...
3. Velvet dress w/furry collar: I think this one has also had it's day...you seem to have cute little bod, and this doesn't seem very flattering on you...
4. Shrug: I think it looks very cute on you, but I know what you mean about shrugs being everywhere...I think I'd keep it though- it's nice to throw on over a cute cami or fitted long t and jeans- and a pencil skirt as you mentioned...
btw- this is a great topic- I'm tempted to post some of my things that are lurking in the back of my closet and see if they can be reincarnated!
I say keep the sweater, the first BCBG shirt, and the shrug. I think they are the most flattering.
Ditto. I like the pieces halleybird listed. The dress looks a bit like something Monica would wear on Friends. I'm just not feeling it. The second BCBG shirt isn't bad at all, but it just doesn't seem like anything special to me. IMO, it doesn't do much to flatter you and I'm not sure what I'd pair it with.
The sweater I'm not sure about.... I'd need to see a close-up of the pattern to decide for sure
BCBG shirts- I like the first one better, but I think they look good on you so if you can make both work, then keep them
Dress- I agree that the fit isn't the best, and NCshopper put it best, it looks like something Monica would wear (back in the 90s, so that means it has the potential to look dated)
Shrug- LOVE LOVE LOVE it on you it looks so good, so keep it! And because it has a unique look to it, you shouldn't worry about the fact that shrugs are everywhere.

hahaha. The funny thing is I probably wore it like twice when I originally bought it and once was to a Halloween party so I don't know why I am so hesitant to toss it. It was obviously something I didn't like much to begin with. This is why it's good to have other people give me a kick in the butt!
I'm still torn on the BCBG shirts. I've had them for ages and I'll go through a whole year of not wearing them and then decide to put them into rotation but I should toss one. I really like the way the yellow one looks with dark jeans and my navy coat but the brown one is a lot more subdued.
Sorry, but the only one I like is the shrug. If you really LOVE any of it, then keep it, but if you don't love it and won't really wear it, then let it go. Nostalgia has its place, but sometimes it's time to make room for the new clothes that come into our lives. *s*

I like the first of the BCBG shirts better. I also like the shrug. Everything else I would donate/sell.

I like the BCBG shirts and the shrug. As for the BCBG shirts, I think I actually prefer the yellow to the brown. It does look good with dark jeans and I can see that it would look cute under your navy coat. And maybe I'm crazy but I think that you could make it really cute for spring by rolling the sleeves and wearing it with shorts, a beater, and a belt.
I'd keep the brown BCBG shirt, I'm not too crazy over the yellow, I'd keep the shrug for now and probably the sweater (it does look comfy as a lounge around top) and I'd toss the rest.
