washington, pa has renamed themselves steeler, pa because 1. go steelers, and 2. they don't want any association with seattle at all. it was voted unamiously (sp?) by the mayor and city council but will only be in effect through the superbowl. hmm...what happens though if the steelers win? hah, like there's any chance of that not happening, but stranger things have happened i guess.

This is so funny... i was just telling my brother about this, I heard it on the news last night.  I thought it was hilarious when they continued to say that the USPS will not be recognizing the name change so please do not put steelers, pa on your letters you address ha ha. 


It is also being named Black and gold week here... and you can wear black and gold to work, but if your boss or someone tells you not to, you can print off a permission slip online that has the mayors signature to give to your boss!  Too funny!

OMG, that is partly hilarious and partly really sad......I am from very near Washington, PA and my parents hadn't told me about this. 


I was just having a conversation with a friend from Seattle last night about the superbowl.  I was able to convince her the Pgh really needs this - that this is what keeps the city going.  I feel that I have done my Pgh justice for the year!


God, this is so funny - I have to go call my mom in Steeler, Pa!!!!!!
