Wash DC... Arlington residents

Hey guys!  I'm planning on moving out soon and I would like your ideas on where I can begin looking.  Currently I'm living for free with my parents out in VA but I would like to move closer to DC.  I would like to stay in VA but move into the Courthouse area.  I tried searching on Craigslist and Washingtonpost.com but I'm not really finding anything within my range.

This will be my first time living on my own so I would really appreciate some advice on where to look and how much is reasonable to spend.  I'm very flexible and am willing to consider studios and one bedroom apts.

Please help!!!

If you're okay w/ a studio, there are plenty around the Van Ness Metro stop in DC. I think they run from $1000/month to $1200/month.  You might be able to find something cheaper if you don't care about having a building w/ a gym or laundry facilities.  I live in Northern VA on a metro line.  Courthouse/Ballston are nice, but $&#@!! expensive.  Clarendon is ok, so is Arlington.  Feel free to PM me if you have apartment questions.  Also, check out apartments.com and apartmentratings.com if you're curious about prices in the area.

HTH!
