My mom turns 50 this March and I'm already worrying about what to get her. Since it's a big birthday, I want to get her something nice and special. She honestly has everything in the world she could ever need so I have no idea.
About her: mother of 4 kids; likes fashion but her style is very classic and tailored; likes to read and travel; classically trained musician and singer; loves dogs; enjoys planning parties and fundraisers; has a great sense of humor. She hates to garden, cook, anything electronic or technological, figurines or anything too cutesy. And nothing from Tiffanys... she has plenty of nice jewelry and she would never wear anything I could afford from there.
maybe a nice silver frame with a family photo in it? does she like crystal? maybe a waterford something (my mom's the same age and collects that, that's why i ask...)
hmmm... well, it would need to be something "special." something elegant. something of a keepsake. I keep envisioning an engraved gold something - like a gold bookmark inscribed with a special sentiment from you - something everyday, but special and personal... just brainstorming here...

Gosh, I feel like moms are impossible to shop for. I know my mom loves anything that's silver and monogrammed and anything Vera Bradley. Would anything like that suit your mom, or is that not her style so much?
Also, what's your budget? Hopefully we can help you find something cool.
