STYLETHREAD -- LET'S TALK SHOP!

Okay I've narrowed down the search for a photo album, but have one question:

Alot of albums I've seen just have like 2 or 3 slots for the picture--the photo has to be horizontal verses vertical and there isn't a space to write something about the picture (like the date, etc.).  I found one that has room for 2 horizontal photos and a space to write in between--but what should I do with my vertical pictures??  I think it would look weird to just turn them on their side but there isn't another opinion that I can think of with this type of photo album page.  So, should I just get one with pages that are big and flat and leave room to arrange the pages the way I want them and write, with the sticky clear covers?  Are those tacky?  Someone who's done this before--please advise!!
