good quality photo albums and scrapbook question (sort of)
Permalink Closed

Hey girls!  I want to order some high end, good quality, simple but cute photo albums to put pictures of Lucy in.  Which brands are good?  What are your favorite websites for nice paper goods?

I've heard about Pulp at perannum.com, but I want to look at some others.  Any ideas?

Also, all of the ones I've seen have a little square on the outer cover for a photograph.  That just seems kind of expected and blah to me.  I was thinking of putting something else in there for variety, possibly her name in a cute font and design, etc. so it is a little different but I don't know how I would do this.  All I know is that I want to write her name and use cranberry and brown as a color scheme (like carnberry letters with brown card stock background).  Any ideas on how to do this?  If I used card stock, what would I use to write her name?  Some kind of a marker, colored pencils--or would that look too second grade??  Should I just take it to Kinkos and have it printed with an ink jet printer or something?

Help I'm clueless!  Cortney??  Anyone?

you could use a paint pen on the cardstock...I think that would be really cute

Okay, now I'm updated on the whole scrapbook thing. I'm not that into scrapbooking myself but I know some people who are. If I were you, I'd just hit the scrapbooking aisles at craft stores and see what you come up with.

As for the card stock and lettering, you could get a stencil if you're super concerned about it looking perfect. And a paint pen or paint itself would work well. Or a caligraphy pen (they come in all colors). If you use a stencil, I'd outline the letters in pencil or pen or something before I colored them in, just in case the paint/pen bleeds a bit.

You could also use carbon paper and trace something you print out on the cardstock. Or maybe use sticker letters? Those would work if you can find the right color.

Those are great suggestions.  Thanks, blubirde.  Thanks also for responding to my other post.  I ended up buying these which have 3 4x6 picture slots and a space in the left margin for notations.  I don't know what I'll do yet about the vertical pictures, but I liked these so much and they were on sale so I went ahead and purchased the brown one:

I think I'm going to get cranberry cardstock and a stencil and do the letters in a brown paint pen or brown paint.

Those are very pretty! I'm sure it will be a great photo album.
