I think you can do it but with a thinner belt. I'm 5'5'' and I've worn a sweater over jeans with a skinny belt around my waist and it looked okay proportion-wise on me. I just wore the belt a little low-slung because I have a short torso and longer legs to balance things out.

i think you could totally pull it off, even with a big belt. iirc you have a really small waist, right? i think this style looks awesome on people with really curvy bodies. if you don't want to look short, maybe use monochromatic colors.

or you could place the belt a little higher than your natural waist almost like an empire waist. when i wear this look that's what i do, but that's mainly b/c i have no real waist, so it looks better higher up.

I think if you want to wear it at your waist...it needs to be a thinner belt. If you like the wide belt, I'd make it looser and more low slung. HTH!!! I think you look really cute!

yes, I think it will work. I would suggest a slightly thinner belt (like others said), and also placing it a *tad* lower.

Also, I would have never guessed you are short!
