"Lost" Stars Engaged?
 
There's nothing like a tropical island filled with sun, sand, a doomsday hatch and some homicidal Others to bring two people closer together. The London Mirror claims "Lost" lovebirds Dominic Monaghan and Evangeline Lilly, who have been quietly dating for about a year, are engaged.

According to the paper, the proposal took place last week in Hawaii, where the ABC smash is filmed, with the erstwhile Hobbit going the traditional route by getting down on one knee to slip a cornea-searing bauble on the up-and-coming starlet's finger (feel free to insert the inevitable "Lord of the Diamond Ring" joke here).

Evangeline allegedly responded by recreating Meg Ryan's famous grown- and moan-filled restaurant scene in "When Harry Met Sally," enthusing, "Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Uh-huh.

Anyhoo, the primetime pair, who have yet to confirm they're an item despite several paparazzi-captured lip-locks (they also looked oh-so-close on the Golden Globe party circuit last week, although they reportedly shied away from any public displays of affection), are said to be planning a visit to Dom's relatives in England to "celebrate the good news."

An insider gushes to the paper, "They want to spend the rest of their lives together."

When contacted about the engagement report, Lilly's rep told MSN Entertainment, "We do not comment on our client's personal life."

The nuptial nattering comes three months after In Touch spotted the actor, 29, shopping for diamond rings in Beverly Hills, and just days after a lengthy profile of him appeared in People, in which he sidestepped personal questions by explaining, "The one thing I can try and keep sacred and special is my love life."

But that didn't stop him from dropping anvil-icious hints about his fond feelings for the "beautiful" and "cute" (as he's described her in recent months) brunette actress, 26, whose marriage to a fellow Canadian reportedly ended shortly after she joined the cast of "Lost."

"When love is in your life, you feel like you're on the right track," says Dominic, adding of Evangeline, "We both have the ability to live in the moment and we both are not that impressed by what is thrown at you by the industry."

No word on whether or not they were impressed by what the industry threw at them this week, namely a big ol' pile of money. The Hollywood Reporter says the original members of the "Lost" cast have been offered a hefty raise from the show's producer, Touchstone Television.

In exchange for inking a deal for another year, the ensemble, including Monaghan, Lilly, Matthew Fox, Josh Holloway, Naveen Andrews, Terry O'Quinn, Jorge Garcia, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim and Harold Perrineau, will pocket close to $80,000 per episode next season, up from the $20,000-$40,000 they're currently getting.

Perhaps Fox, who gives good brood as Jack, will pick up the tab for any celebratory salary soirees: He reportedly received a bonus in the tony neighborhood of $250,000.
