help with a gift idea

Hi all,


I need some help thinking of a gift idea.


A couple of weeks ago, my boss fell down a short set of stairs and hurt his back really badly.  He was out of work for a week.  He then came back to work, but things continued to get worse.  So now he's on a part time schedule to let help him heal.


I'd really like to do something nice for him, like get him a card and a small gift.  I often give coffee shop gift cards for similar occassions, but he isn't really a coffee drinker.


Any ideas?  I'm at a total loss.

Probably a single gift.  He is a very stereotypical old school type businessman in his 50s, not very touchy feely at all, so I don't want to do anything over the top.

If he is staying at home more now, I think you should think of a gift he could use to entertain himself while getting better - I think a book or a DVD might work. Or you can give him a Barnes and Noble or Borders certificate so he'd be able to choose what he likes.
