My mom bought me a bunch of stuff from the Gap for Christmas and I'm just getting around to returning them now. I just read the receipt and it says 14 days from purchase. Are they really strict on that? I have both gift receipt and regular receipt.

I wonder when/if it changed? 14 days from purchase is really strict, especially with gifts. I checked the website and it says 180 days. From the site:
Returns With an Original Sales Receipt
Store refunds will be issued in the original form of payment for price paid or a merchandise exchange when returned within 180 days of the purchase date. Merchandise returned more than 180 days after the purchase date will be eligible for a merchandise exchange or a merchandise certificate for the price paid.
Online refunds will be issued in the original form of payment for price paid or merchandise exchange at any time. A mail check may be issued when original form of payment is unavailable for credit.
A mail check will be issued when items over $5 are paid for by check or e-check* and returned within 3 days of the date of purchase online or in stores.
A return/exchange or gift receipt does not serve as an original receipt online or in stores.
