Bag dilemma

So I've been saving for the LV Alma, and now that I have enough money set aside, I'm not entirely sure it's what I want. (I'm so indecisive!) It was initially my first choice because I love the shape, it's versatile, and it's classic.  Part of the original plan was to buy a monogram Alma now, save more money, and buy an epi Speedy later this spring (in red or blue).  Now I think I'd rather get a red epi Alma or a Chloe Silverado and forget about the Speedy for now.  I'm really drawn to the Silverado the most but I'm worried about the longevity of the bag, while I know the Alma is classic.  On the other hand, I have the money for the Silverado now, and knowing that the Alma will always be in style is almost making me favor the Chloe, because I know that I'll be able to get the Alma later and still get tons of use out of it.  AND (sorry I'm getting so long winded) while I like the Silverado best, I also like the Paddington.  I'm thinking that the Paddy might be a better choice than the Silverado because I feel that it will have more longevity.

Or should I just forget the bag and put the money I've saved toward a new elliptical?  The one I have isn't bad, but I really would love a super nice gym quality one.

What should I do!?!  Oh, and please feel free to make other suggestions.

Im so in love with this bag. The red color, the simplicity of its design- its so rich and classic looking. So, of course, this would be my first choice.

I'm not LV crazy.. and although I have the Paddington and love it.. I am very drawn to the shape and details on the Silverado. Also, you have elliptical machine, right? Just not a FANTASTIC one? I would probably make due with what I have..

You have been saving for the bag for a while now. I vote for the Silverado hands down!

one of the chloes for sure. I have been drooling over the paddington for the past few weeks, but I really love both

I like the reasoning that the LV bags will always be there, so you don't have to get it right away. Although it may not be as classic, I feel a Chloe would be more worth the money, since it's actually leather and the LVs are just canvas (well, the monogram ones anyway).

So my vote is the Chloe Paddington. That's the one I would want the most out of all those bags.

I agree w/asf - I have never seen the silverado before, but I'm speechless.  It's is a beautiful bag - you  have to get it!!

I would definately go with the Silverado. Since the design isn't outlandish it can still be a classic bag, one you carry for years. The LV will be around forever and you can always buy that next year.

I would definitely go with one of the Chloes, they are MUCH more hip than an LV and just as classic (I hope I'm not offending anyone, this is JMO).  Also, there aren't thousands of fake ones everywhere you go like there are LVs on the east coast.  I love both Chloes--I've always wanted the paddington but I'm really digging the silverado.  Plus, I heard that the lock on the paddington is kind of heavy.  JMO.

The detailing on the Silverado is stunning -- what a beautiful bag! Plus, I agree that LVs will always be available, at least as far was we can tell!

This is JMO - I don't want to offend anyone. Disclaimer in place, my opinion is:

I really don't think the boho-ish bags (e.g., stuff with whipstitching, dangling fringe, etc.) like the Silverado will last much longer. And, I think that when they are over, they will be really, really over - as in we will all be super, super sick of them.

So I vote for either the monogram alma, the epi alma, or the Paddington (which I do think will be more classic, and which has the added bonus of reminding me of Paddington Bear).

I agree with this. I would rather invest money in a more classic Chloe like the Paddy.

That's exactly what I think too.  It's a beautiful bag, no doubt about it, but I don't think it's going to stand the test of time.

The Paddington and the Epi Alma are my two choices.  The Monogrammed Alma is pretty, but I think the bag is stunning in the epi leather.

Eeee!  I really want the Silverado.  I was unsure but a lot of you agree that it's a good choice so I feel much better about it.  However, I have the order information completed and I just can't hit the submit button.  I think it's because as much as I love this bag, I'm also really afraid of what Lisa and zeitgeist4 said.  I don't want to spend $1200 on something that I'm going to feel is so "2005/2006" two years from now.  I'm going to think on it because I really can't make a decision yet.  Thanks guys!

Okay, I don't know if this will sway you either way with the Cloe bags, but here are som pics of celebs with the two bags, just so you can get a better idea of how they look "IRL"

my honest opinion- LV epi or paddington. i agree with lisa and others on the silverado. but i was never crazy with it to begin with, so take this for what its worth. it looks like its trying too hard to be an "it" bag- it isn't as effortless as some other chloe bags and the LV epis. is there anything else you're leaning towards? fendi, gucci, chanel? $1200 will buy you an awesome bag, so i can see why you're hesitant towards making a choice.

OK the Chloe bags are beautiful and if you have the money to buy it then go for it, but you did say that you saved for it so I would go for an LV. They are classic and the Alma bag is a great style and you can get in and out of it really well.

I think that you should get it in the red....so classic and then later get the Monogram in the speedy.

I know that people are over LV because they got all popular, but I got my first one 10 years ago when they weren't all cool with younger girls and it still looks fantastic, they are just made so well and if you are spending that much money it should be in something that will last a long time.

Just the fact that the Chloe bag has been on the arms of every celeb and they are knocked off all over the place makes me not want it, now if I was a celeb and had gobs of money I would buy all of them!

Oh and I am the Queen of run on sentences!

Thanks everyone! I've been thinking about this all day and I've decided to buy a home gym (strength building) instead. I'll keep setting money aside so I can buy the red Alma later this spring, as a birthday/having a baby present for myself. I really do love the Silverado and the Paddington but at this point I'd feel bad spending that much money on something that's not classic. I know I'll get a lot of use out of the home gym so I feel comfortable with that. Boring, I know!
