on this DVF wrap dress...

but i still need help with sizing...  here's the skinny (or not so! considering my shape!!)

i am 5'3"

i am a 34B in the chest

27 inch waist

and ALL of my weight is in my behind/thighs.  I wear between a 4 and a 6 in dresses depending on their shape.  Most of the wrap dresses i have owned i have worn a 4 depending on how clingy the fabric was... if the fabric is super clingy then i usually went up to a 6 or didn't buy the dress.

those of you with experience with DVF what do you recommend?  does most SAKS carry DVF wrap dresses?  if so, i'll just go and try it on instead of lamenting over the size i ordered for the next 3 months until it comes in...

tia!

I think the wrap dresses are pretty generous with the sizing. For example, a size 4 should be able to fit anyone within sizes 2-6, a size 6 should fit anyone between sizes 4-8, etc. I've tried on a DVF wrap dress in a size 6 (I'm usually a size 4 in dresses). It fit perfectly, except it was a little loose in the chest area. I think that you could probably get away with getting it in the 4.

I agree.  I am usually between a 4 and a 6 and I tried one on in a 6 at neiman's last call (it was on clearance for like 60 bucks) and it was just too big.  What a loss.

BUT I am very happy that you are getting treating yourself, that one is awesome!

I take an 8 because of my chest, but the bottom is more forgiving than the top. You sound like you'd want a 4 so it won't be baggy in the chest.

I've never seen a Saks that doesn't carry DVF. Bloomies also carries a good DVF selection.

fantastic!  thanks girls for your advice.  i ordered the red in a 4 but i'll try to swing in Saks to try a 4 and a 6 in her dresses.  i've tried DVF tops before and have been a 4 but never tried the dresses.

yay!  i can cross one of my "classic" items off my list for this year!!!  now i just need to get 3 more things this year and i'll be done!  :)
