This sounds so BAD, but a relative died the other week and we're assuming 1/4 of the inheritance will go to my mom. When she gets the money she wants to splurge and get a nice handbag, but is limiting it to $300.
What I need from you ladies is advice on a stylish but age appropriate bag for a 55-year-old woman. She has two brown handbags (one deep brown, the other medium), a few black, and one cream/tan.
My mom would like it to be recognizable designer/brand, but no logo. She wants something that will be good for spring/summer, so I was thinking something like this from Coach (sorry for the huge picture).
She actually liked the Dooney and Bourke denim logo bags, but I immediately vetoed that! Too young and logo-y.
Any suggestions on a $300 or less spring/summer bag for a 55-year-old

Thanks for all the suggestions Elle! She actually really likes the Kors satchel you posted, but I was wondering if all the studs would be age-appropriate? I would love it if she got that one, because then I could borrow it!

I know this is from a while ago, but I just saw the post. I had the exact same dilemma of trying to find a bag for my mom (with similar criteria). I ended up getting her this one from Dooney. It's really nice leather IRL & roomy, too. And I thought it was classic without being boring. Plus it's on sale for half price! ($177 from $295).
