questions about bridesmaid dress, shoes -- pics included
Permalink Closed

Over the weekend we found 2 pair of shoes to go with the bridesmaid dress i have been posting about.  We are pretty sure that the nine west are perfect, but though i would get more opinions.

Also, what do you think about the fishnets, or wearing some sort of hose in general (if not fishnet, very sheer)?  The wedding is in Massachusetts in mid-march, so it will probably be cold.  time outdoors is minimal -- so bare legs would be fine if it's going to look better.  I'm not sure how i feel about the look of peep toe with hose.  (and please ignore my butt-white legs.  they will be appropriately self-tanned for the wedding)

would you take about an inch off the hem of the dress?  i feel like it makes my calves look big as is and would be more flattering if it was just a tad shorter and hit right at my knee.

any suggestions for earrings?

(I'm just figuring out the digital camera -- posting thing so sorr y the pics are big and sideways)

i like the target shoes. the ninewest ones don't seem like they'd be very comfortable after a few hours.

the nine west ones are actually really comfy -- the bride (who never wears heels b/c of the comfort factor) got the same ones in silver

I like the shoes a lot, but I can't decide how I feel about the fishnets. Because it's a wedding,  think I'd like them more if they were a tighter weave and maybe nude instead of brown. But either way, you look smashing in that dress!

I like the fishnets with it - they take away from the "sundress" feel it has without the fishnets.  Also, I like the target shoes better with the fishnets - the sling back and openness of the 9 west ones compete with the pattern of the fishnets.  BUT with the heavier shoe, and hose, I'm feeling like it's not balanced with the strapless - it's like a lot of heavyness on the bottom - but it's a heavy dress (visually)... I'm feeling more like the shoes are wrong for the dress - maybe a closed toe slingback would be a better visual weight with the dress.

it doesn't really matter if the shoes are similar to the brides, anyway - no one's really going to see her shoes (unless she is wearing a shorter dress?)

personally, I like these (in the brown) - they just seem more special to me - plus their visual weight stands up better against the dress...

I agree with the "no" vote on the fishnets (they look great, but too clubby for a wedding) and I also agree with the comment about the shoes not having enough visual weight. Especially with the fishnets, they just don't hold up somehow, even though they are a really great pair of shoes (I am mentally making outfits with them right now - so cute). The target ones seem less jarring, though, so maybe those would be ok. And I love the brown and gold - so darling!

this was intitially my feeling when i saw the dress in this picture:

the shoes just disappear.  we tried these and i liked them:

a lot with the dress but the bride wasn't so into them.  they were really cute IRL and the bow was even really cute (when i first saw them it reminded me fo a ped).

I also like the Ninewest pair.  I don't think you should hem it--I really like the length of the dress.

I like the Nine West shoes more because I've seen the Target ones in real life and I think they look cheap. I also vote no hose.
