I am seriously suffering from it right now. I'm not on a ban, per se, but there's really nothing in particular that I need or want right now and I could use to save the money. I havn't bought anything in the new year and right now I just want to buy something- anything- soooo badly. I don't even care what! Ugh!

Idea if you want to spend very little money on some cute random stuff.  Go to Target in the front where they have those $1 bins, most of the time there is some really cute stuff in there!  I mean, it's kind of cheaply made, but it's usually cute and fulfiling for a shopping w/drawl.  I got earrings and a ring that I wore on NYE, they were really flashy and fun, but I would only wear them with 1 outfit, so why not spen $1 on them??  Sometimes they even have like cute dishes and mugs and home decor too.   HTH!!

i agree with Luv2shop - put a low low limit on yourself, like $5? The other thing I do is pick up cute birthday / anniversary / thank you cards so that when I need them I'll have them. That also curbs my spending impulse but gets me something I'm going to end up spending money on anyway!

HTH

How about "splurging" on some nice tea, jam, chocolate, mags, soap? When I want to save I plan mini shopping sprees. You could also go "shopping" in your closet and play w/ new outfit combos.

I am so with you. I want to buy things but I can't find anything to buy. Today though i went to Marshalls and even though I didn't find anything for myself, I bought my mom a BCBG top for $12, I was very proud of that one, and A pair of nine West wedges for $30. That satisifed my urge.

omg, i'm going through the same thing. its a combo of saving money/mini ban, plus inbetween seasons, plus being busy, plus working at a job that is making me sick of clothes, plus the fact that i think my tastes are majorly changing (in an expensive way), so i'd rather buy nothing than something that isnt to-die-for. maybe in 10 years i'll have my dream wardrobe, lol. i think splurging on food, magazines, or even a Sephora beauty product kind of takes the urge away.

I think you got lots of wise suggestions.
Even when I am on a shopping ban, I allow myself 1 CD or 1 book a month, so I have something to look forward to and it takes me a while to finish the book/get tired of the CD

That is me sometimes, I have absolutely nothing I need to buy but feel like shopping!  My bf says how I don't need anymore clothes, I'm always looking for a reason to go shopping.  Well, he doesn't need any more cigarettes!  He has his habit, and I have mine.  Seriously, he spends more on cigarettes than I do clothes (I'm pretty sure anyway), and nothing good comes of cigarettes!  And when I'm done with my clothes, I can sell them on ebay and recoup most of my money.
